Cheap Purina Cat Chow Naturals Dry Cat Food Review

I would recommend Purina Naturals to any cat owner who is looking for a decent medium-grade cat food.

Being concerned about my 3-year old cat's weight, I decided to give this kind a try to see if the natural ingredients would help with her weight. The ingredients are not the best, but they're not entirely bad, either. The first ingredient is Chicken Meal, which contains the carcasses and the muscular parts of a chicken. It's much more nutrient-rich than the ever-popular "chicken by-product meal". The second ingredient is a filler, which is Corn Gluten Meal (cats are carnivores - could you imagine a cat eating corn?) but it's much better than "ground yellow corn" which is found in many CHEAP cat foods. Ground Yellow Corn is total junk. Among the others on the product list are salmon, carrots, and brewers rice which are all natural ingredients helpful to the maintaining of an adult cat's health.

I would rate this food better than Meow Mix Wholesome Goodness- it had too much corn and my cat was never getting full. That bag lasted less than a month before I had to buy more food (usually a 6 lb bag lasts her about 2 months) and her litter box was getting full VERY fast. (This cat food was actually more expensive in the long run than most other foods I've tried.)

I made a good switch here. The only complaint I have about this food is that the kibbles are much too small. They're about the size of a pea and my cat doesn't even take time to chew; she just gulps it right down which disturbs me.

I'm putting her on some light formula now and I've upgraded to Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul (Light Formula) by Diamond Pet Foods. If that one works out, I will probably stick with that one or the standard Diamond product. She loves Diamond cat foods as a "pick-and-choose-the-kibbles" test has shown.
